Wes Anderson at Music Box Theater

Wes Anderson at Music Box Theater
Fantastic Mr. Fox

Wes Anderson is like that friend in junior high you would only talk to after school. You know, the one who’s a social outcast, but he’s smart, makes you think, and he’s genuine; His conversation is sincere and relatable. You get the dork, even if no one else does.

Wes Anderson is that dork and I get him – most of the time. Other times I try to eat my lunch as far away from him as possible while avoiding eye contact.

Our favorite indie cinema, Music Box Theater, is playing host to Mr. Anderson this Saturday, March 1st where he will answer questions from the audience after a special screening of his latest film.  That film, I know nothing about. Just being honest.

Fantastic Mr. Fox, Moonrise Kingdom? I know all about these great contemporary classics. Music Box Theater wants you to know these greats as well as others from the celebrated writer/director/producer. Starting Friday, February 28th they’re dedicating a complete week to his film anthology and they’re calling it – get this! – The Wes Anderson Film Anthology. For a complete schedule click here.

It’s always cooler to discover a brilliant artist before he’s dead and everyone else jumps on the posthumous bandwagon. Be cool. Head to Music Box next week to take advantage of this visual treat!

So, what’s your favorite Wes Anderson flick? Why so?
