This article is brought to you by our newest contributor Terence Mosley, Man About Town. The Man About Town’s poison of choice? A classic Manhattan. Please enjoy his coverage of Chicago’s top lounges, bars, and eateries.

The Tie Bar is a Chicago based online store that specializes in affordable ties, pocket squares, scarves, cufflinks, and accessories. I’ve been a big fan of theirs for years. Last month, they ventured off the web and onto the streets of Lincoln Park with their first ever pop-up shop. Since then, they’ve been hosting various events to spread the word about their new brick and mortar.

For their latest pop-up party installment, The Tie Bar partnered with none other than men’s style leader GQ for an epic event that included specialty drinks created by mixologists from Drumbar and Scofflaw, GQ-inspired tie/sock/pocket square combinations, and grooming tips. Mark from Scofflaw made a variation on a Manhattan (my drink of choice) while Danny from Scofflaw made a gin based drink. Both were excellent.

A Selection of Knit Ties and Printed Pocket Square from The Tie Bar

There was a DJ spinning everything from electronics to jams from the 90s, and they even had a barbershop set up doling out quick shaves and haircuts. Great idea, but I passed on that one (ha!).

What I love about The Tie Bar is their wide selection, many items priced under $20. While the online store has more to choose from, it’s good to come in and actually see the pieces on display.

The pop up shop will be open until January 4, so I highly recommend checking it out ASAP. You won’t leave empty handed!

Note: We will update this post with future events being held at this store.
