Well Hello There, [Insert Your Name Here Please]!
February 15, 2013 in Thoughts and Observations
To the thirteen new subscribers, Chicagoings Daily would like to say… [ahem] Well, hello there!
What is Chicagoings Daily? The purpose of this online journal is to provide a platform from which small businesses can showcase their expertise. Thriving in a world full of corporations, the owners of these businesses are looking us in the eye and giving a face to their product. They are stylish, focused, driven, and inspiring. The customers who support them are conscious of their community and the effect of each individual on the authenticity of Chicago as a whole. They demand the highest quality and they never follow the crowd. Together these vendors and customers are preserving our culture and keeping Chicago real. Chicagoings.com is representing them. (yea…that’s pretty much our mission statement.)
Who’s the writer? Kari Herrera, a 20 something (28, but who’s counting), shopaholic, art enthusiast, foodie on a budget who developed a love (more like ‘a passion’ really) for Chicago’s independent businesses while planning her wedding in 2012. When the corporate companies treated her big day like a job, indie businesses were there to provide quality service and unique products. Kari writes from the perspective of Chicago’s fashionable, thrifty, consumer.
