- Cocktail Reception, West Pavilion, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
- Raffle tickets sold at $100 per ticket or 3 tickets at $250 during reception and dinner.
- Museum Exhibitions open during Black Creativity Gala:
- Black Creativity Juried Art exhibition
- Innovation Studio
- Dinner stations open at 8:00 p.m., Raffle Drawing held during dinner.
- Dessert and Dancing. Entertainers for the evening include the Opal Staples Orchestra and DJ Nick Nicholson.
- Creative Cocktail Lounge open after dinner, Lower Level
About Black Creativity: Anchored by the Museum’s nationally recognized Center for the Advancement of Science Education (CASE), Black Creativity reaches more than 25,000 students, their teachers and families in underserved Chicago neighborhoods each year with a wide range of targeted, culturally-relevant science education programming. The program has four main goals:
- Provide exposure for African-American youth to careers, educational pathways and other opportunities in science, technology, engineering and medicine.
- Highlight and recognize the contributions and activities of African-American youth in science, technology, engineering and medicine.
- Increase access to MSI and its resources to African-American students and families.
- Showcase African Americans and their contributions, past and current, to the fields of science, technology, engineering and medicine.
