It never fails. Monday arrives faster than expected after a weekend shorter than hoped. If commuter blues got ya down, relief has arrived in the form of Roof on theWit’s rooftop movie series.
The lounge-slash-restaurant-slash-nightclub has been in the movie business for some time. If you’re into low-key after work hangouts, this is unexpectedly the perfect option. Saturday afternoon, catch a day party here and you’re likely to leave covered in feathers, confetti, and someone else’s drink. The movie Monday crowd, tho? Definitely more chill. Like, way more chill. I brought my mom here when she was in town and she had a blast, noshing on complimentary (a pleasant surprise!) Chicago style hot dogs and popcorn from Garretts. I’m not saying they’re serving up free gourmet dogs and snacks every night, but it’s worth checking out.
Of course, happy hour is about the drinks and I have to say Roof has maintained their beverage standard — a notch or two above average — for years. You won’t find prohibition era booze or a variety of absinthe, but the drinks are good nonetheless. Natural juices, crisp Prosecco, and top shelf liquor.
Roof’s rooftop movie lineup has something for you playing at least one Monday night this month.
