Black Friday is kind of a big deal in our house. I’m the type of person who sleeps outside of Bed Bath and Beyond for an espresso machine that’s 20% off for the first 25 guests. I’m not ashamed. Not the slightest. See, it’s all about the thrill of the hunt. Sleeping on concrete at 3 a.m. with 200 strangers in 20-below-zero weather? Call it urban camping. I’ll be entertaining my guests with the story of this conquest for the next decade, ignoring their sighs and eye-rolls as they’ve heard the story so many times before. “Oh, you like it? I actually waited in line for 5 hours, in the dark, with 200 strangers, to get this limited edition espresso machine for $100. An old lady punched me in the jaw for it. I stepped on a little person to reach the last box. I’m glad the coffee is to your liking.” However, if Black Friday isn’t your thing, there’s always Small Business Saturday.

Unlike other cooked-up “holidays”, American Express’s Small Business Saturday actually serves a collective purpose – support local business, save big money. Pretty dope, right? This Saturday, visit local stores for big savings on clothing, spa services, and delectable treats.
