{This Weekend} 3 Events to Keep You Satisfied until Lollapalooza

Top Events in ChicagoLolla’s one week away and we’ve all gotta find something to do until August 1st. Fortunately, ChiTown has a few diversions lined up for the antsy. Two street festivals, and your favorite SNL cast member lands on a Chicago institution. These are the weekend’s top events in Chicago.

Taste of Lincoln Avenue

When: Saturday, July 26th, 12 p.m. – 10 p.m., Sunday, July 27th, 12 p.m. – 10 p.m. Where: Lincoln Ave. and Fullerton, Chicago, IL Why you may want to attend: Taste of Lincoln Park is in the heart of the hood and stretches across several city blocks. 250+ vendors, food, and three music stages showcasing every genre you want to hear round out the event. Trippin Billies, a Dave Matthews Cover Band, are headlining Saturday night. More info: http://www.tasteoflincolnchicago.com

Wicker Park Fest

When: Saturday, July 26th, 12 p.m. – 10 p.m., Sunday, July 27th, 12 p.m. – 10 p.m. Where: Milwaukee Ave. from North Ave. to Paulina St. Why you may want to attend: Wicker Park Fest is more loved then Lolla and Pitchfork, but costs less for entry than a drink at either ($5 donation). Okay, maybe not more loved but folks really look forward to this festival is what I’m saying. Donations go to the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce to ensure the party never stops for years to come. The music is edgy. Street food in WP/Bucktown is some of the best in the city. Expect the fest to be crowded. More info: http://www.wickerparkbucktown.com

SNL’s Jay Pharoah at Zanies

When: Friday, July 25th, 8 p.m. & 10:30 p.m., Saturday, July 26th, 8 p.m. & 10:30 p.m. Where: Zanies (Rosemont), 5437 Park Place, Rosemont, IL Why you may want to attend: Zanies has nurtured some of the best comedians of our time. After a night at the Chicago club, Saturday Night Live’s Pharoah will be taking his talents to Rosemont for two nights of gut busting laughs…or so we hope. More info: http://www.zanies.com/
