What to wear to Lollapalooza
Lollapalooza may not have the boho fashion cred of Coachella or Glastonbury, but for four days the festival turned Grant Park into a parade of original looks. The overall theme seemed to be “come as you are, with a dash of who you want to be.” Feel like wearing a full-length prom gown over combat boots? Knock yourself out. Thinking more jeans and a T-shirt topped with a dramatic mermaid crown? That’s cool too. The festival’s diverse bookings—the headliners included Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead, and Vic Mensa—were reflected in the crowd’s style.
What trends didn’t surprise? Flower crowns and bikini tops. They’re inevitable (sadly). What was surprising? Parasols, drum-major hats, and endless variations of the classic Bulls jersey. While some went all-out, most stayed low-key—Malia Obama, for instance, kept it chill in khaki shorts and earth tones. No big deal.
There was something for everyone on the festival fashion scene this year. Here we’ve gathered our favorite looks from Lollapalooza 2016.
