What is it about the weekend that makes us so willing to give in? Burgers? Maybe one, this weekend. Staying up really, really late? Not a good idea, except on the weekend. Exercise? Of course, but not until Monday morning. Within those precious two days are enough carbs, calories, and cholesterol to leave a body unmovable and inefficient.
No matter your indulgences these last few days, here are 5 ways to look and feel your best before 9 a.m.
Get Moving
Runners and gym rats know that the best way to feel lighter and look better before heading to work is to sweat it out. Hit up that new body training class, run a few miles, or pop in a workout DVD. The increased blood flow will invigorate both your body and your brain – making you more alert and productive.
Drink Up and Bite Down
Drinking a few glasses of water in the morning stimulates the digestive system. Eat an apple or another fruit high in fiber to really get things moving (#Ifyouknowwhatimean). Continue drinking copious amounts of water throughout the day.
Reach for the Joe
Aside from the obvious caffeinated boost, coffee helps push toxins out of our body. Drink a cup, sans sugar and cream, along with water to feel refreshed.
Orange you Feeling Invigorated
Citrus infused body and face washes are known to awaken the senses. If you’re plagued with oily skin, like me, use just a bit of fresh lemon juice on your face to help matte the shine.
Get Shady
It sounds superficial, but a well applied vivid shade of lipstick adds interest to the face and keeps the attention away from tired eyes.
