Today, New York City stopped by with a very special package marked time-sensitive: Alvin Ailey, the historically ground-breaking and universally acclaimed dance theater company, is making its home in Chicago at the Auditorium Theater February 28th – March 9th. Alvin Ailey is a national treasure and a global cultural ambassador. The Auditorium Theater is the perfect venue for such an amazing show.
It never fails that I find myself emotionally sapped at the end of each act. Each dance presents a new idea, makes a subtle suggestion, and a silent debate is conducted by members of the audience. Everyone has their own idea of what the dance means. This is how Alvin Ailey continues to draw fans and followers from every neighborhood of Chicago, and in every city they visit.

If you’ve seen past shows you know that all performances end with Revelations, a transcendent piece reflecting the life and soul of the old American South. For the first time in Chicago, select nights will also feature Chroma, a contemporary ballet which, to quote their website, is “full of surprises.” Hmmm…wonder what that means?

This prize is non-transferable. There are no cash or other substitutes of prizes by winner. Prize will be emailed to the same address with which the winner subscribes to Chicagoings.com. Email will be sent by 4:15 pm Friday, February 28, 2014.

How to Win
One (1) winner will be selected through a random drawing from all eligible entries after contest closes to win. In the event that the original winner does not meet eligibility requirements or he/she forfeits the prize, the prize may be awarded to the next randomly drawn eligible participant. All entries must be received on or before February 28th, 2014 at 4 PM CST. The winner will be notified via e-mail or message (as applicable). Winner will have 30 minutes to claim prize by calling number provided after initial notification. If winner fails to claim within 30 minutes, an alternative winner may be selected.
