It’s hard to believe a then-unknown Kanye West’s debut was released thirteen years ago. Today he may be more known for some of his offstage antics, but his musical talent has never been questioned by music fans. The College Dropout album brought us favorites like “Jesus Walks” and “Through The Wire” to name a few.
It’s fitting that Chicago band, Sidewalk Chalk, should recreate the album live. They have the chops and personnel to pull off West’s dense and challenging arrangements. A full band with a horn section and vocalists/rappers; they’ve been playing together for years and it shows.
