{Fashion} Skokie’s Prina Bagia Wants to be Your Indie Fave

I had never heard of Prina Bagia before receiving an invite to her show. Being that this site’s life blood is local fashion, there’s no excuse for my ignorance. The Skokie raised designer isn’t new to the world of fashion. She’s been designing custom creations since at least 2011 under the label Prin by Prina Bagia. Her style is daring and, it seems, still being cemented as she expands her brand with a new ready to wear collection.

So, when Prin unveiled its first ever ready to wear collection at Bottom Lounge last Thursday I expected the offerings to be more in line with past assortments. Boy, was I wrong! Her attention to detail, tailored fittings, and purposeful use of texture make these RTW skirts and dresses like none from before. I’ll reserve any final input until the collection is available for closer inspection. Prin by Prina Bagia is growing into a confident aesthetic and a major player in Chicago’s indie fashion world. I can’t wait to see what she brings to the table in the future. Until then, so far so great!

Prin’s RTW debut was made last Thursday at Bottom Lounge, MOSAIC by Raw Artists featuring Prina Bagia.
