“Spring is nature’s way of saying: ‘Let’s party!’” — Robin Williams
Do you have more fun getting dressed in the spring than in the winter? I sure do. Spring means open toes, cotton dresses, and getting ready in only 20 minutes. I’m giddy at the thought of espadrilles! Ahhh, it’s the little things.
Shoe Party Clean Up

Speaking of shoes, in celebration of their newly remodeled Lakeview location DSW held a Shoe Lovers Party this weekend. The private event was hosted by the BADESTEST Chi fashion bloggers; Nikia Jefferson of ChiTown Fashionista, Nicki Brashear of Fashionista Chicago, Dana Weiss of Possessionista, and Monica Dimperio of the MidWasteland. Aside from serving fiyah! in footwear form, DSW kept it classy with topnotch cocktails and savory hors d’oeuvres. One fortunate winner took home a free pair of stems. Plus, big money gift cards were given to every single guest. BIG THANKS again to Nikia Jefferson for the invitation and DSW for throwing such a fabulous party. It was every shoe lover’s dream! 2014 Spring Style Series: Almanac
Thursday nights this month are all about indie fashion at The Underground. Last Thursday, TheAlmanacMag.com curated a men’s fashion show heavy on pastels and Penguin. Definitely not for the insecure. They’re giving you beach boy baby blanket realness. Seriously though, I loved every moment. Join the party this Thursday where the hand tailored apparel of Chicago’s Wilfred Newman will be featured.
Small Venue BIG Artist
Daley performed at Lincoln Hall last Friday night for a sold out crowd. He put his entire self into every note, per his usual. The set lasted until well past midnight, at which point he took the time to greet fans in the venue’s restaurant. It’s so nice when an artist has no idea how big they are just yet!
Unfamiliar with Daley? Here’s his video for “Broken”. If you’re looking for a reminder of what music sounded like before auto-tune, check out Days & Nights, his latest release.
